Scotland’s Drill Halls: Preliminary Report

This preliminary report from Historic Environment Scotland summarises the data on listed and unlisted drill hall structures in Scotland.

To mark the centenary of the First World War, Historic Environment Scotland (HES) undertook a review of drill hall structures in Scotland. The project aimed to identify all of the surviving drill halls constructed before 1918, to inform HES which unlisted drill halls were eligible for listing and to review the designation of existing listed drill halls.
